Aquatics Center

The James Family Prescott YMCA’S Aquatics Facility offers fun for the whole family! While enjoying activities in the pool area, please be sure to follow all posted rules and the instruction of the lifeguards. The lifeguards are highly motivated by the YMCA’s mission and are trained to prevent injuries and accidents before they happen. Children under the age of 12 may not swim without direct supervision by a parent or guardian in the water or on the pool deck. Read more..

Private/Semi-Private Swim Lessons

Private and semi-private swim lessons go year round! Sign up today! Private lessons may only be taught during pool operation hours.

UPDATE: We are currently on a Waitlist with private and semi-private lessons. New lessons and re-sign ups must fillout a new private lesson request form and turn it into the front desk where you will await contact from the aquatics department when an instructor is available to teach. We will not collect payment until we can verify that we have an instructor available to teach! The waitlist is on a first come, first serve basis! We appreciate your patience!

How does registration for group lessons work? How do I know what stage to register my child? What stages will be taught this session? Which age groups?

No worries, these are common questions! Registration and payment can be collected at the front desk of the YMCA. Please review our swim lesson selector guide for more information on which stage is right for your child.

Why Does My Swim Vest Need to be U.S. Coast Guard Approved?

Skydivers wear their parachutes, football players wear their helmets, drivers wear their seatbelts, responsible swimmers wear their life vest! The YMCA has been America's swim teacher for over a century and it is our mission to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the community and youth. We belive in following the practices and procedures upheld by the most reputable organizations, such as the U.S. Coast Guard, when it comes to water safety. While many store brand floaties and toys are popular, they are not designed to keep you safe while swimming. A USCG approved vest will keep you afloat and reduce the risk of injury. THe Prescott YMCA does not allow any non-USCG flotation devices while swimming in our facility. If you do not have a USCG vest we will be happy to let you borrow one of our vests while you swim!

Is Your Swimsuit Appropriate?

The YMCA is a family friendly facility. We must ensure that all swimwear is appropriate and safe for pool use. Street clothes, jeans, underwear, or any revealing attire will not be permitted for swimming. Swimsuits must adequatley cover the body and be appropriate for its intended use. Please take a look at our swimwear guidelines for our aquatics facility!
