Shape Your Future: Join us for an Exciting Civic Experience

Arizona Youth and Government is a dynamic program dedicated to empowering young leaders and promoting civic engagement among Arizona’s youth. Through hands-on activities, debates, and mock legislative sessions, participants will develop essential leadership skills and gain a deeper understanding of our democratic process. We believe “democracy should be learned by each generation.”

Key Program Highlights

  • Participate in mock legislative sessions and learn how laws are created.
  • Engage in spirited debates and hone your public speaking skills.
  • Take on an exciting conference role – Legislator, Middle School Assembly Member, Court Member, Press Corps, Page, or Lobbyist! Develop valuable skills for the future.
  • Network with like-minded peers who share your passion for civic engagement.
  • Gain a better understanding of our government and make a real impact!

Who Can Participate

  • Middle and high school students, grades 6 through 12, are eligible to participate in the program.
  • No prior experience in government or politics is required.

Important Dates

Parent/Student Information Meetings: August 1, 2024 and August 8,2024 6pm-7pm at the YMCA

Delegation Meetings: TBA

Location: James Family Prescott YMCA, 750 Whipple Street, Prescott.

Pre-Legislative Training Conference: Saturday, November 9th, 2024.

Conference: Takes place at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix, December 6th – 8th, 2024.

                      Officer training takes place on December 5th, 2024 - Phoenix
