Whiskey Row Marathon 2010 |

The YMCA Whiskey Row Marathon is right around the corner. The 32nd Annual Marathon is Saturday, May 1st. If the marathon is just a little too much, you can run in the half-marathon, 10K or 2-mile fun run instead. You may also participate in this Prescott tradition by volunteering in one of several areas. So, save the date and start training now.

The YMCA offers a wide variety of Group Cycling classes. The times also vary from 6:00 am to noon to 5:30 pm. We have class that increase endurance and power, classes to build aerobic capacity and classes for beginners. View the Group Cycling Class Schedule

The YMCA will be offering several SCUBA classes in the next few months. Open Recreation SCUBA is this Saturday, January 16th at 9:00 am. If you are new to SCUBA and just want to give it a try, then Discover SCUBA is the class for you. The next Discover class is Saturday, January 23rd. And, if you want to become a certified diver, join us for the full Confined Water class February 10th. Our SCUBA program has something for everyone.

Are you looking for something fun for your child to do during Spring Break? Look no further than the YMCA. We will be offering state-licensed, DES approved Day Camps for school-aged children through the 5th grade. Childcare Parent Appreciation Night |
Calling all parents of children enrolled in our Preschool or After School programs. We cordially invite you to join us for Parent Appreciation night on February 19th. We are offering an evening of free child care for all children currently enrolled in our programs. Mom and Dad can go out for the evening and enjoy themselves while our professional YMCA staff takes care of their children for free. Call now to reserve a space for your kids.

Deep Water Excercise Training |
|
Deep Water Exercise Training at the YMCA is a great class if you want overall conditioning, or if you have had a recent injury. Runners use the deep water as an alternative to training, especially if they are experiencing overuse injuries. This form of exercise is also great for people who may be suffering from low back issues and can not do any impact exercises. Come experience Deep Water Training at the Prescott YMCA Mondays and Wednesday at 5:15 pm.

Pilates for People with MS |
Pilates is suitable for everyone. Pilates is ideal for someone with MS as many of the exercises are done seated or lying down. Pilates low-impact movements will be taught in a gentle and graceful manner, emphasizing proper breathing. Pilates builds strength, teaches body awareness, promotes good posture, and improves muscle elasticity and joint mobility. The many benefits from doing Pilates can have a good effect on many MS symptoms.

$5.00 a class for members
$45 for Community or $12 a class

Season runs March – May
Registration begins in February.
Division “A” – For players with experience and drive to play at a competitive level. Players must tryout. Sportsmanship and competition are emphasized in this league.
Ages: Coed 9-10, 11-12, 13-16
Division “B” – Recreational play for fun that introduces and reinforces volleyball skills. Players focus on sportsmanship more than competition.
Ages: Coed 9-10, 11-12, 13-16

The YMCA Gymnastics program is a year round program for beginning tumblers through competitive gymnasts. Our Tumble Tot classes are designed for children as young as 18 months. And, our Prescott Lightning team holds the current state championship. We also offer a teen tumbling class and classes for adults. There is something for everyone in our gymnastics program.
