Program Directors
Our staff is deeply and passionately committed to the Prescott YMCA and its mission. They are individuals who foster a sense of fellowship and belonging. As ambassadors to health and community, the Prescott YMCA staff welcomes you!
Executive Director - Allan Klinikowski
Allan is pleased to work with such a dynamic and strong staff. Allan says, “I enjoy serving our members from age 80 to age 2. It is always a pleasure to watch individuals of any age learn how to swim for the first time, shoot hoops, jog their first mile or reach a fitness goal.” He is a proud grandfather of two year old Myrie Noel and newborn Shaughnessy. Allan is an avid scuba diver and recently gained his Dive Master certification. Last summer, while diving off the coast of Costa Rica, he swam with a whale shark. “It was the biggest shark I have ever seen,” he said.
Associate Director - Diane Beneitone
Diane has been with the Prescott YMCA for more than 27 years. The Y helped raise her three children. She appreciates the loyal Y members and dedicated staff. She serves as the Associate Executive Director, a National YMCA Trainer, a member of the Prescott Area Leadership Program and recipient of the Prescott Business Woman of the Year. Married to Lou, Prescott High School football coach, Diane enjoys her family, traveling, entertaining and football!
Business Director - Linda Bruno
Linda worked in the entertainment industry for many years before relocating to Prescott in 2002. Since moving to Prescott, she has earned a B.S.B.A. from Old Dominion University, and will be sitting for the CPA exam in 2007. Linda is enjoying the change of pace going from a profit industry to a non-profit community. She has a young daughter who loves participating in all the sports offered at the Y. Linda’s favorite thing about working at the Y is the friendly atmosphere and team spirit among the employees.
Childcare Director – Laura Winniford
Laura has worked at the Prescott YMCA since October 1993 and is excited about her new role as Childcare Director. She has been the Whiskey Row Marathon Race Director for 6 years and loves this annual Prescott tradition. She believes the best part of her job, after all these years, is working with the awesome Members, volunteers, terrific staff and now the preschool children. In her spare time Laura enjoys the sunshine and being outdoors.
Sports Director - Jessica Leary
After moving to Prescott from Washington State in July of 2004, Jessica was hired by the Y to work in Membership. She has since moved up to serve as the director of the sports department. She has enjoyed meeting new people that both work and work-out at the Prescott YMCA. As a former high school teacher, Jessica hopes that her skills and passion for inspiring youth will help her continue the success of the Prescott YMCA Sports programs for many years to come.
Membership Director - Myrna Swarsbrook
Myrna has been working at the Prescott YMCA since May of 2002. With her education and previous career experience in Fitness and Aquatics, becoming Membership Director here at the YMCA brought on many interesting challenges. The career change has been a great experience for Myrna. As might be expected, she enjoys working out in the YMCA pool and in the great fitness center. “The YMCA is one of Prescott’s greatest assets and it’s truly a privilege to be a part of the management team.”
Health & Fitness Director - Fran Romero
Fran has been with the Prescott YMCA for nearly 17 years. Before working for the Prescott Y, she was a volunteer at the San Pedro YMCA in Southern California after graduating from Chico State University. Her first YMCA job was teaching Fitness Fantasia at the Lighthouse YMCA in Tucson. Fran has worked as a front desk assistant, water fitness instructor, tot gymnastics instructor, aerobic instructor and aerobic coordinator, which prepared her for her current position as Health and Fitness Director. She enjoys working for the Y, creating programs that help people of all ages and abilities reach their fitness goals.
Wellness Department - Chris Cottam
Chris has been an athlete all his life. Raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Chris earned a football scholarship at the University of Mississippi where he earned honorable mention All American honors as an offensive lineman. In addition to several marathons, he participated in the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon Championship. In Prescott, Chris hikes, cycles, swims and loves to run with his dog, Juno. He plans to compete in triathlons and sporting events in the upcoming year. Chris holds two personal training certifications and is qualified to handle most of your fitness questions and needs. He serves as the Director of the YMCA’s First Step program.
Maintenance and Facilities Director - John Gust
John Gust has worked for the Prescott YMCA in various capacities for the past six years. In addition to his current role as Maintenance and Facilities Director, John is a personal trainer. He is currently working on a master’s degree in holistic theology and hopes to use this education as a life coach and counselor. He also would like to facilitate a men’s support group on communication skills and relationship issues.
Gymnastics Director - Jon Sebastian
Jon has been coaching gymnastics since 1975 and owned his own club in Brighton, Colorado. His experience, enthusiasm and passion for the position provide him with the necessary tools to instill confidence, strength and grace in the Y's female gymnasts. He enjoys seeing the gymnasts improve and has found a wonderful community with the the coaches, athletes and Y families.
Marketing Director - Autumn Klinikowski
Autumn grew up in the YMCA and is proud to serve it today. As the Marketing Director, Autumn enjoys the communication with members and staff and the dynamic progress that is happening at the Y. Autumn loves gardening, exercising and enjoys riding her mountain bike on sunny evenings and weekends.
