Summer Camp is a place where kids can learn valuable character building lessons, learn a new skill, or make new friends. Unfortunately, many children are unable to experience this, simply because of their inability to pay.
The YMCA has re-established its Volunteer
Service Program and department. A new foundation is being built by a
dedicated group of volunteers. The program’s goal is to place
individuals into rewarding and enriching positions.
Construction on the Fitness Center
Expansion is underway. Anticipated completion date is August.
During the past ten years, the YMCA has seen its membership grow to over 10,000 members. To continue to improve the services the Y offers to its members, a large Capital Campaign is underway.
In the next three months, the anticipated expansion of the Fitness
Center and Child Care facilities should begin. The additions to the
Fitness Center will include a new aerobic room, cardiovascular room and
expanded weight room area. The YMCA will continue the fundraising campaign
in order to raise the million dollars still needed to finance the
project.
