Mary Byrne
Fitness Director

Mary has been employed by the Prescott YMCA for 9 years. She is certified to Personal Train through ACE and certified in Group Instruction through the YMCA of the USA and AFFA. Whether working one on one or with groups, she loves helping clients reach their health and fitness goals. Giving members that 'extra' bit of motivation can produce powerful results. Never give up! As a Boot Camp Instructor, her creative approach has taught many members a whole new way of looking at exercise and that it can actually be fun! She loves running and riding her bike.

Jon Arriola
Personal Trainer

Jon has been involved with fitness most of his life. His passion for fitness drove him to get his personal trainer certification through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). His competitive swimming background of 17 years carries over into his style of training. Jon believes that a person should be as flexible and as mobile as if they were 20 years old, but throughout their lives. Jon hopes to further his knowledge in the fitness field and get a different perspective of fitness by pursuing his certification in yoga.

Charlie Brown
Personal Trainer

Charlie’s passion for the fitness lifestyle and his background in competitive cycling, swimming, running and triathlons makes him uniquely gifted as a trainer. Charlie relates to the challenges a client encounters while working towards their goals. As a AFAA certified trainer, he brings all his knowledge and understanding of these experiences to provide insight, and understanding to his client’s training needs from general fitness to specific sports goals.

Candi Dailey
Personal Trainer

Candi is Certified as a Personal Trainer, is a Specialist in Sports Performance Nutrition and also Certified in Group Fitness through both the ISSA and the YMCA . Her lifelong love of fitness and struggle with eating disorders has enabled her to better empathize with others fitness and health challenges. She has developed a passion to help others as they work to achieve their goals. Let her design a personalized and unique program for you by incorporating nutrition, core strengthening as well as functional training moves.

Cynthia Fields
Personal Trainer

Cynthia is an ACE certified Personal Trainer. She has a fresh passion for fitness and strongly believes in its benefits inside and out. She also believes in the benefits of strength training in particular and that anyone willing to work hard can achieve all things.

Nino Filippinetti
Personal Trainer

From Switzerland, Nino is an competitive mountain cyclist, and avid hiker and snow skier. Before becoming a Certified Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor, Nino was diagnosed with arthritis of the spine. It is no wonder that his special expertise is core exercise. Nino enjoys working with people to help them achieve their unique goals.

Katie Darnick
Personal Trainer

Katie is a personal fitness trainer, certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She is passionate about fitness, health, nutrition and overall well-being. Her positive and encouraging attitude inspires others. Katie trains as a competitive gymnast and is also a gymnastics coach.

Diane Kennedy
Personal Trainer

Diane is a Certified Personal Trainer and group fitness instructor through AFAA, with additional certifications in Tae Kwon Do, Yogafit, and Turbokick and Piyo and Zumba. Diane’s goal is to motivate, boost confidence and educate people by making exercise a lifelong habit. She will work with you to develop a program that fits a client’s needs, values, and visions while helping them overcome barriers that may prevent them from reaching their wellness goals.

Hung Pham
Personal Trainer

Hung was born in Vientiane, Laos. He and his family immigrated to the US when he was young. He has resided in Prescott for more than 20 years and works in his full time position at a local restaurant as a Chef. Hung is a Certified Personal Trainer through American Council on Exercise, ACE. Fitness has always played a major role in his life through sports and outdoor activities. Hung enjoys the helping people young and old with their fitness goals. His motto, “you can do it and I can help.”

Denise Stevens
Personal Trainer

Denise is Certified as a Personal Fitness Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She has maintained her certifications since 1994. She helps her clients reach their personal best, be it in health, fitness or appearance. With a background in bodybuilding and a thorough enjoyment of several physical activities, she understands the commitments and rewards when fitness is a part of life. She successfully works with her clients to design personalized programs that will work for them and keep them committed to their purpose.

Bob Zampol
Personal Trainer

Bob is a knowledgeable weight trainer who loves passing on this enthusiasm to others. He takes a diverse approach to fitness, balancing cardio, weight training and stretching as part of his daily workout program. Bob is a Certified Personal Trainer with National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). , Bob is a retired engineer from Southern California.

Chris Cottam
Personal Trainer

Chris has been certified since 1996 and enjoys one-on-one training sessions as well as working in pairs or groups. He excels at maximizing client's fitness through a variety of training methods. As a result of Chris' personal weight(y) issues, having lost 60 pounds, he understands the weight loss concerns of his clients and able to thoughtfully advise them. Chris is a YMCA Spin Instructor as well. Chris was honorable mention All-American and 2nd team All-SEC football player at Ole Miss. In 1988 he completed the Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon.

Erin Harris
Personal Trainer

Erin has been a fitness instructor for the Prescott Y since 2005. Through healthy eating and the help of a variety of fitness classes, Erin lost 45 pounds over 12 years ago. Through that experience, Erin formed a true love for exercise and living a healthy lifestyle. Erin specializes in working with older adults and is sympathetic to those living with reoccurring body pain and injuries. She will work alongside your physical therapist or physician to safely design an exercise program for each individual. Erin continues to teach senior fitness, weight training and boot camp classes here at the YMCA. Erin is a certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise, a YMCA certified fitness instructor and is also certified through Silver Sneakers. Erin will support you in your health anf fitness goals.

Tomas Hayes
Personal Trainer

Thomas has been a certified personal trainer for five years and is currently a Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Thomas is a multi-sport athlete and played competitive rugby for eight years. He has coached sports performance with a focus on speed, agility and power at both high school and collegiate levels including Embry Riddle Men's Soccer and Cal Poly Men's Rugby. Thomas believes everyone should be competitive whether young or old, enjoying personal fitness or sports. His passion for fitness is contagious and his unique training approach gives you "the change you need for the results you want".
