The Prescott YMCA aquatics department offers a
variety of programs and services. Programs are designed to build on the
skills previously learned, creating new opportunities to participate in
on-going skill development and personal challenge. The aquatic program
stresses the YMCA’s core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and
Responsibility for all participants including the very youngest to our
most senior swimmers. The mission of the YMCA is something our staff
believes in…building strong children, families and communities. In
conducting the aquatic programs with these values at the forefront,
safety of all participants remains a top priority.
Open Rec Swim is offered most afternoons,
evenings and on weekends in both the activity pool and the lap
pool at different times, the water slide and diving board are
open during designated times. Children under the age of 10 may
not swim without direct supervision by a parent or guardian in
the water.
The YMCA’s recreational swim team helps kids improve stroke skills and
learn about friendly swimming competition. Your child will learn proper
techniques for all competitive strokes. They will also have the
opportunity to compete in a few local swim meets as well as against
teams in Phoenix. Please register in advance. Additional Fee.
Swim Lessons are included with membership during certain
times of the year for all Prescott YMCA members. Each member is
allowed to sign up for one session at a time. Please register
for each new session as it is announced. Because of the
progressive nature of swim lessons, please make sure to register
children for the corresponding level of their skills. Levels
cannot be skipped. The aquatics staff reserves the right to
re-place children, if we feel they could better benefit from a
different level placement.
Offered year-round
for children ages 3 years and older, teens and adults.
Participants work directly (one-on-one or two-on-one) with an
instructor. Private lessons are 30 minutes and semi-private are
45 minutes. You set the schedule with your instructor.

This class is held in the warm and relaxing 93 degree activity pool.
The class emphasizes range of motion, flexibility, and strengthening of
muscles around the joints. Please register in advance.
The Aqua Fit Class is suitable for all exercisers from beginners to
those who are more advanced. It is a cross training workout that
strengthens muscles, aids in cardiovascular development and helps with
flexibility in one hour. We exercise in the shallow end of the pool
with various water excerise equipment. No pre-registration is needed.
